Video Game Room

Come enjoy our Video Game Room, filled with an assortment of consoles ranging from Nintendo Switches to PlayStations and so much more. Pick out a game and play with a friend any time of day during the convention. Looking for something more competitive? We welcome you to sign up for one or more of our three tournaments hosted here throughout the convention.

Information

Our Video Game Room is held in The Globe rooms 2400 and 2500 and is open as long as the convention (with the exception of periodic breaks).

We will be hosting three tournaments organized by three FreeCon partners. Sign-up for tournaments can be found at the staff table in each of the game rooms.

For Sunday’s Pokemon Sword and Shield tournament, pre-registration will be from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM on Saturday in the Video Game Room.

Tournaments

 

1. Super Smash Brothers: Ultimate

Organized By: SLC Game Committee and Tally Smash League

Time: Saturday, Februrary 29th starting at 1:00 PM

Cap: 32

Prizes: Awarded to First Place and Runner Up

 

2. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Heritage for the Future (SEGA Dreamcast)

Organized By: Tallahassee Fighting Game Community

Time: Saturday, Februrary 29th starting at 7:00 PM

Cap: 24

Prizes: Awarded to First Place and Runner Up

 

3. Pokemon Sword and Shield (bring your own Switch)

Organized By: Powered by HeatTap OwO

Time: Sunday, March 1st starting at 4:00 PM

Cap: 32

Format: The battles will be in a best-of-1 Double Battle format. Trainers are to bring 6 Pokemon, and from those 6 they will select 4 to battle with. The grand final match will be a best-of-3.

Prizes: First Place ($20 Nintendo Gift Card). Second Place ($10 Nintendo Gift Card), and Third Place ($5 Nintendo Gift Card)

Requirements:

  • Trainers are to bring 6 Pokemon, and from those 6 they will select 4 to battle with.
  • You MUST pre-register your Pokemon team with one of the tournament coordinators. Only those that have been verified will be able to participate. Pre-registration will consist of: Pokemon, Held Item (if any), Ability, and Moveset.
  • No duplicate items. If a Pokemon is holding an item, it must be unique from the rest of your team.
  • No legendary Pokemon. 
  • Gigantimax Pokemon are allowed in teams.
