When is FreeCon 21?

Where is FreeCon 21?

FreeCon takes place at the FSU Student Union.

Address: 75 N Woodward Ave, Tallahassee, FL 32306

Hours of convention?

Saturday: 11 AM – 8 PM

Sunday: 11 AM – 5 PM

Do I have to pay to enter?

FreeCon 21 is a free-entry convention, but all participants are required to fill out the waiver form at registration or online through pre-registration.

Where is registration & what time?

Main registration will be held outside the Moore Auditorium; a smaller registration area will be available outside the Dealers’ Hall on the Second Floor for use after main registration closes.

Those who pre-registered must also report to this location to check in.

Main registration will open at 10:30 AM for both days; it will close at 4 PM on Saturday and 2 PM on Sunday.

Where can I park?

After 10 PM on Friday, on-campus parking is completely open. During the weekend, you can park anywhere on-campus for free without a parking permit.

The closest parking garages/lots to the Union include Woodward Garage and Lot 225. The locations marked by a capital ‘P’ designate where parking is available.

Is there free wi-fi? How do I connect to it?

FSUGuest is a wi-fi network created for guests of Florida State University to provide free easy-access, public Wi-Fi to guests on FSU campuses.

To connect, select FSUGuest from the list of available networks:

– Enter your cellphone number

– Click Register

– Check your cellphone for a text message

– Return to a web browser

– Enter the Username (your cellphone #) and Password (the pin # that is provided in the text message)

– Click Log In

What do I need to bring?

Please bring your Government Issued Photo ID with D.O.B. and your best attitude!

Should I bring cash or card?

We strongly suggest that you bring your credit/debit card rather than cash. Our Vendors & Artists may accept cash, though it might vary from seller to seller.

Please note that most, if not all, restaurants on FSU property only accept card & not cash

Can I bring in outside food & drinks?

Yes! Outside foods & drinks are allowed into the FSU Student Union.

Outside alcohol is strictly prohibited; any alcoholic beverages purchased from Proof at FSU must remain in the designated area. Please refer to the signage provided by FSU on the Lower Level.

Is the Maid Café serving food? Is it free?

The Maid Café will be serving free food! Only pictures and merchandise will require purchase.


I’m an artist/vendor or special guest, where can I pick up my badge?

All artists and vendors will receive their badge the day of set-up; please head to our Help desk outside the Dealers’ Hall on the Second Floor. For more information, please refer to your FreeCon 21 Acceptance email.

Special guests will receive their badge the day of set-up; please head to our Help desk outside the Dealers’ Hall on the Second Floor. For more information, please refer to your FreeCon 21 Special Guest email.

I’m a panelist or performer, where can I pick up my badge?

Performers will not require a special badge unless you have been explicitly told that you will receive one.

Panelists will retrieve their badge from our Help desk outside the Dealers’ Hall on the Second Floor; You may hold on to your Panelist Badge throughout the duration of FreeCon 21. Please pick up your Panelist Badge no later than 30 minutes before the start of your panel.

I’m a panelist, how early can I get into my panel room?

As long as the panel before yours has finished, you may enter the room to begin setting up. Please have your panel ready to go by the scheduled start time, and do not begin beforehand.

I’m a performer with props, where can I store my props during the convention?

This service is solely limited to attendees who are performing at FreeCon 21.

Props can be stored in our Staff Only room; Please visit our Help Desk and leave your name and phone number. We will have limited space, so you will not be guaranteed a place to store your prop. FreeCon is not responsible for any damages or lost property.


Where can I buy FreeCon merchandise?

You can purchase FreeCon 21 merch at the Help Desk located outside the Dealers’ Hall on the Second Floor. All purchases go towards funding FreeCon and we greatly appreciate any purchase!
