Costume & Mask Rules:
Use of body paint, glitter, confetti & fake blood is not permitted. Fake blood & paint on the face are the only exceptions. You will be denied entry if you are in violation of this rule.
All costumes must be family friendly, no more explicit than PG-13. At the minimum, costumes should be kept beach appropriate.
As dictated by FSUPD, masks are only permitted in the appointed event space.
All masks/headwear must be removed prior to entry of event space to ensure safety to all.
What is considered part of the event space?

– Moore Auditorium
– Rooms 1281, 1282, 1283, 1284, 2211, 2212, 2213, 2214, and 3010
*The Pre-Function area is our main event space; you will know you have entered this area after going through the required bag check and passing through the designated stanchions.
We understand this not ideal for attendees, but this is to ensure safety for all participants and prevent any incidents from taking place during FreeCon 20.

Prop Rules:
Only props made of soft foam, plastic, or wood props are permitted.
Anything that even remotely resembles a real firearm is strictly prohibited. If it looks like a real firearm, you will be turned away from FreeCon.
Only guns that are clearly fake, like a nerf gun, are allowed. No air-soft or even plastic replicas of guns that could be confused as a real gun will be allowed into FreeCon.
No live-edge weapons and no metal will be permitted.
All bladed weapons (swords, daggers, kunai, etc.) must be blunt, and made of foam or plastic. Absolutely no live steel is permitted on the grounds. (Live steel is defined as any blade, dull or sharp, made out of metal)
Bows and slingshots must have low string tension, and be incapable of firing.
Futuristic or fantasy props (lightsabers, laser guns, etc.) must follow the same guidelines as swords and guns.
Any prop sporting open flame, any form of real ammunition, or anything that violates the rules as stated above, are strictly prohibited.
All props must be checked by FreeCon staff & security.
– All props will be marked with a neon green zip tie to ensure that staff and security know it has undergone the proper inspection process.
– The FSUPD officer working at registration will have the final say about whether your prop is allowed or not. There will be no exceptions to their judgement. It’s your responsibility to contact us about whether your prop qualifies or not.
– All props are subject to inspection by staff, or security of FreeCon at any time. If your prop is found in violation of the rules, you will be asked to remove your prop from the premises.
